Optym's Avatars
Little guilty pleasure: Sometimes I use Adobe Animate/Flash brush tool for drawing stuff.
Initially designed for its software application profile default pictures, Optym has now 24 avatars to use outside the initial contest (handbook, presentations, flyers, banners, goodies, videos).
Every character has a name and his own little story.
The story
Each character needed to have the same face structure base to make the process of changing skin tone, mustache, glasses or other features simple.
DESIGN PROCESS
After creating the face structure I scanned my sketches and open Flash. I used layers and keyframes to create multiple hairs style, glasses, mouths, mustaches, beards. Then I started playing around and created the different characters. I transferred them to photoshop to add texture and gradients.
OUTCOME

Optym used Captain Optym for intern communication, he guides new employee thought the boarding video and the new employee handbook.

AWARD
The Optym Avatars won gold awards in the Illustration Series category. at the local American Advertising Awards 2017 (ADDY).
